Pieter Coecke van Aelst or Pieter van Aelst (Aalst, 14th August 1502 - Brussels, 6th December 1550) was a Flemish painter, engraver, draughtsman and publisher. He also produced tapestries and was the father-in-law of Pieter Brueghel the Elder. He was also the uncle of the painter Joachim Beuckelaer. Not to be confused with Pieter van Aelst, a famous tapestry maker.
