Over 100,000 persons visit the Royal Collections Gallery
21/08/2023
Since it was opened on 29th June, the Royal Collections Gallery has received 100,680 visitors. The new museum of Patrimonio Nacional has received on average 2,000 visitors daily, looking forward to exploring a representative sample of five centuries of royal collections
The visitors to the Gallery point to the wide variety of the objects on exhibit, ranging from paintings and armour to tapestries, furniture and items of decoration, as a particular highlight. They also appreciate the chronological distribution of the works in association with the monarchs who included them in the Royal Collections, as well as the audiovisual media explaining the most relevant events of the different reigns.
Beyond its impact on tourism, the new museum of Patrimonio Nacional is destined to become a cultural benchmark of the city of Madrid. To this end, Patrimonio Nacional is launching a series of lectures in September that focus on the museum project itself, so that the public may learn about its origins, the connections between the selected pieces and how they were restored and preserved until today.
These lectures are free of cost and will be held in the Auditorium of the Royal Collections Gallery. All information on these activities will be updated in the Agenda section https://www.galeriadelascoleccionesreales.es/agenda#buscador-actividades
